Climate Change

Climate change is the biggest challenge humanity has ever faced. And we all can play a role in informing people about climate science and climate action.
This series, led by Dr David Robbins, director of Dublin City University’s Centre for Climate and Society, examines basic climate change facts; how Ireland is portrayed in film; and how the media cope with explaining the issues.

Big story, bigger challenge: why the media struggle to cover climate change
David worked as an advisor to the Minister for the Environment, was assistant editor and columnist with the Irish Independent and broadcast a weekly radio column on RTÉ's Drivetime. His talk looks at the difficulties journalists face in covering climate, and examines the levels and characteristics of Irish coverage.

Crime and Fiction

Recognising that crime fiction and true crime are among the most popular genres for contemporary readers and viewers, RTÉ presenter and author Myles Dungan talks about his favourite crime books, and his own novels.
Myles also offers talks on the history of crime, spying and forensic science.
Myles, the author of popular works including The Stealing of the Irish Crown Jewels; The White House and How The Irish Won The West is one of Ireland’s best-known and most respected broadcasters, hosting current affairs, arts and sports programmes on both radio and television for more than two decades. His latest book, The Great Irish History Book, is a bestseller at Christmas.

Bringing the past to life! Discover how our world was shaped as Myles Dungan and guests explore events ranging from medieval times to the recent past.

Four killings

The stealing of the irish crown jewels
