MUCKROSS HOUSE, KILLARNEY is partnering with Pegasus to host a new series of history talks during October.

Broadcasters and authors Myles Dungan and Flor Mac Carthy will join John Dorney, editor of The Irish Story website, for three fascinating history presentations.

All talks are online, so you don’t even have to leave the comfort of your own home!

President To President
Flor MacCarthy reveals details of correspondence between Presidents of Ireland and US Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Carter, Reagan and GW Bush. Learn about US President Ronald Reagan’s stay at Ashford Castle and recent correspondence between two West of Ireland men, US President Joseph R. Biden and President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins.

Wodehouse’s War
Myles Dungan commemorates the death of P.G.Wodehouse in 1975 with a talk on the humourist’s controversial broadcasts from Nazi Germany in 1944.

The Economic War 1932-38

John Dorney discusses how trade warfare rewrote the Anglo-Irish Treaty.
